I am who I am today because I have an amazing mother in my life whom I call “ Ah Mak” ( Mother). She is one incredible human being. Many woman does noble things but my mother surpass them all. My mother is a woman of noble character; she was widowed when she was 36 years old. She single-handily raised her only son and her three beautiful daughters. She never remarried although she had suitors because she does not want to mess up our lives with stepfather and step children. I am sure she misses my dad and there are days when she is lonesome but she never showed it. She put her children above herself and raised us within her means …making sure we stayed as a family. Life was hard but she pressed on. I admire her tenacity , her strength and I appreciate her struggle to put bread on the table.
I may not have any luxury growing up but I enjoy the luxury of having a righteous mother who is with me throughout my life. She may not be a perfect mother but she is a great one.She is not a person that I can lean on, but she made leaning unnecessary.
She is the rarest jewel God has given us, she is worth far more than the biggest diamond in the world ! “Ah Mak” you are an angel to us and to your grandchildren. Thank –you for your unconditional love. I felt God honored my mother’s choice to remain a widow and thus bless us all !
